The main bus stations in Frankfurt

In Frankfurt, we distinguish two main bus stations; the main station Frankfurt (Main) and the station at Frankfurt Airport on the Main. These two bus stations are by far the most important and busiest stations in Frankfurt.

Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof

This is the station from which most buses in Frankfurt depart and arrive.

Flixbus Frankfurt, in particular, offers numerous bus connections here several times a day. The station is easily accessible from downtown Frankfurt, approximately a 20-minute walk.

The bus station is located right next to the main train station in Frankfurt and is of course easily accessible by public transportation:

  • U4 and U5 subway lines
  • S-Bahn lines S5, S8 and S9
  • Bus lines 78, M46 and SEV

Frankfurt am Main Airport

Address: Busparkplatz P36, 60547 Frankfurt am Main, Germany

The Frankfurt Airport long-distance bus station is located in Terminal 1 of the airport. This stop is about a 20-minute drive from downtown Frankfurt.

The Frankfurt/Main airport bus station is also often served by long-distance buses, but is less busy than the main station in Frankfurt (Main).

This stop is also particularly used by FlixBus Frankfurt.

As the bus stop is located directly on the airport site, there are several options for continuing your journey:

  • S-Bahn lines: S8
  • Bus lines: 61, 62, OF-64 and X19
